THE VALE MEN'S SECTION

May I offer you a warm welcome to the Men’s Section of the Vale Golf & Country Club.

My name is Rob Millward, I am a founder member of the club and have played golf here for 35 years, we played 36 holes on the opening day in June 1991.

I have represented the club as Club Captain twice and now have the honour of being Captain of the Men's Section for the 2026 golfing year.

We are a very welcoming club towards new members and visitors alike.

You will find all the facilities second to none, the two courses, the Pro-Shop, the clubhouse, and the driving range. You may also wish to take advantage of an overnight stay in the excellent lakeside lodges.

The Men’s Section is well run by a strong committee who will welcome golfers of all abilities.

We have a well established, programme of golfing events that run throughout the year, most events take place on a Sunday morning.

I have listed some below for your perusal.

• From March to April, we run a comprehensive range of competitions; Medals, Team Events, and the Blue-ribbon Championship Tournament over two days in July.
• On weekends where no major competitions are contested, we arrange a qualifying stableford competition.
• There is also a series of Open events which attract a large entry that always enjoy the test offered by our courses. Particularly the Blue Monster which is played from the longest tees.
• We have various matchplay knockout events played throughout the year.
• From October to March there is also the popular Winter League
• We have teams in three local leagues which we participate in during the summer months.
• We also aim to compete in as many County events as possible.
• On Thursday nights from April to September, golfers from across the club enjoy 9 holes and something to eat, post golf, in our legendry club night event.
• There are also regular events on the 9-hole Lenches course, which have become hugely competitive.
• There are also many opportunities to mix with golfers from other Sections within the club.

I am sure that you will find something listed above that will stir your competitive juices.

At an elite level we have hosted two Europro events with the winners both going on to record brilliant performances on the DP European tour.

This year we will host The England Golf Challenge Supported by Hotel Planner (formerly The Challenge Tour) and your chance to view some top-quality golfers in action.

Finally, The Men’s Section carry forward a huge reputation for charity fund raising. This year we are supporting The Cystic Fibrous Trust ~ a charity close to our hearts.
