THE VALE

WELCOME TO THE LADIES SECTION

The Vale Ladies Section takes pride in being a very friendly section as well as being an integral part of the golf club.  Golfers of all ages and abilities are encouraged to participate in the numerous and varied competitions and social events organised at the Club throughout the year.

Tuesday Competitions

During the summer months Medal and Stableford qualifying competitions are played, as well as other non-qualifying competitions.  In the winter, social competitions of varying formats are organised. Ladies unable to play golf are encouraged to come along for coffee and/or lunch after the competition.  You can sign up for these competitions is in the pro shop where payment is made and the book is signed.

Thursday Roll Up

Ladies are invited to ‘roll up’ on a Thursday morning to play a 9 hole Stableford competition on either the Lenches or International course.    Ladies are also welcome to come along for a chat and coffee if they are not playing golf.

Weekend Competitions

Medal and Stableford qualifying competitions are played throughout the summer months, mostly on a Sunday morning.  Other less formal competitions are organised throughout the year when qualifiers are not being played.

Matches

Ladies teams play in the Midlands Scratch League and the Droitwich Inter Club League.  Other friendly matches are also played against local clubs to give ladies on differing handicaps and with less experience of competitive golf the opportunity to gain confidence in a very friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

Club Night

Club Night is held during the Summer on Thursdays from 4pm.  Please come along, join in and meet other members from all sections. Food is available and prize giving takes place after a 9 hole Stableford competition.

Mixed Section

The Vale has an active Mixed Section. We hold two Mixed Open Competitions each year – The Throckmorton Trophy (27 holes) and The Valerie Gittings Trophy.  In addition to general mixed social competitions, there are a number of club trophy competitions, such as matchplay knockouts, and friendly matches against other clubs within the area.

Organisation of the Section

The section is run by a committee including a Captain who serves for one year. The Captain & Vice Captain serve on the Club’s Management Committee together with those of the Men’s Section & Ladies Section and Club representatives.

The Ladies Section Committee is made up of the following posts:
